Grape Seed Extract
INCI: Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract
Among many actions, the proanthocyanidins in the Grape seed extract trigger the release of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its topical application stimulates cells in the skin called fibroblasts, which produce collagen and elastin to clarify, thicken and tighten skin. With aging, the levels of EGF decrease, leading to signs of aging such as dullness, wrinkles, lines, and general skin sagging. GSE increases cell turnover and collagen synthesis to help overcome these problems.
Skin aging is a natural process that occurs due to external and internal factors involving genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors. Decrease of collagen and its precursor, inflammation, and disordered melanocytes are some changes that occur in photo aging. GSE rich in Proanthocyanidins reduces the lipid oxidation of the cellular structure of the skin and inhibits the production of free radicals.
Grape Seed Extract 95% is a standardised extract from grape seeds that helps support healthy circulation, and also has antioxidant and regenerative properties.
